“How sad and bad and mad it was — but then, how it was sweet” ― Robert Browning

My journey with Amal Academy is one of the best things that I did up till now. During this fellowship, I learned a lot of things such as team working, communication skills, networking, superhero resume and cover letter, and much more but the best part for me was the Mega Project that we did together. This project has impacted my life the most and made me realize that work for humanity is the best thing you do in your life. This project changed my full perspective of thinking of life. Because I had forgotten the concept of humanity in this Nafsa Nafsi situation. But thanks to the Amal Academy and my circle who remind me of these lost values.

Be the reason someone smiles. Be the reason someone feels loved and believes in the goodness in people. ~Roy T. Bennett

When our circle’s mega-project idea was rejected we were confused and worried about our next plan. We conducted more than 3–4 meetings and came up with 40+ ideas to finalized our final idea but in vain. Then Mr. Ali Hussnain suggested us to work for the poor people to manage their funeral arrangements who can not afford it due to lack of resources and forced to borrow money from someone else to fulfill their concierge services. All group members agreed to this idea. At first, I was against it and believed that it is a useless thing to do and asked my group to work on something else. But due to the time constraints and reasoning of the circle leader, I got convinced to work on this idea as a mega-project.

A plea to donate for mankind.

It has been possible due to the hard efforts of our circle leader, Razi Allah who played an important role to complete this project. His continuous messages in the WhatsApp group asking for updates, conducting 3 meetings in a week, motivating others to complete PWs, and all the things he did was incredible. In the middle of our project, when we were having trouble getting donations and due to this I lost my faith in this idea but it was the Razi Allah who motivated me and made me believe that inshAllah we will be able to complete it on time. He shared his positive energy with everyone in a circle that urged us to work hard to complete this project. And by the blessing of Allah almighty and the hard work of our team we were able to complete this project on time in an efficient way. Up till now, we have served 1 family in managing their funeral arrangements and I have internal peace and happiness for doing this work.

Since this was not easy for us to work on such a meaningful project and had no idea before doing this so we made many mistakes. The biggest difficulty we had faced was about getting donations for our project to buy utensils. Since we were doing so individually so we were discouraged. Then we had a meeting and changed our strategy and involved elder people of the village to get donations from people. By adopting this method we got more donations and If we had adopted this thing earlier, then we could be able to collect more money and are able to do this project in a better way. But the overall experience was very good. Thanks to Amal Academy.
